Pondering this lately, what it might mean to be salt.

When Ezra’s been held by a church lady, he returns to me smelling of foreign, sweet perfume. When his daddy’s in need of a shower, I can tell by the odour on the hair of that baby who’s been cradled
Pondered, this morning, Isaiah 1:17, in which God says this to his people:
encourage the oppressed.
Defend the cause of the fatherless,
plead the case of the widow.
and I was struck by the verbs, their strength.
And I kind of wish he’d said something more like this
smile at the oppressed.
I’m in that place. That place where it seems that the Spirit is speaking loud. That place where all kinds of distinct channels seem to be pointing in the same direction, speaking of the same themes, and to ignore it is near impossible.
It’s scary, but it’s good.
This weekend was the True City Conference, and the theme was “Seek
When I was In grade 3, we had to do a fitness test that included a 12-minute run.
I couldn’t do it.
Ever since then, I’ve told myself I’m not a runner. I’ve told myself I can’t run.
This morning, for the first time since that 12-minute run I couldn’t do 18 years ago, I ran for longer than 12 minutes.
